ARL Programs prepare teachers for instruction and will
directly impact the
Clark County School District (CCSD). Eligible students
participate in 150 hours of staff development provided by CCSD and begin their
college course work for teacher certification. ARL is supported by a U.S.
Department of Education Transition to Teaching grant in conjunction with
Project mNet, an interstate consortium that offers teaching opportunities to
individuals with specific background experiences.

The efforts to secure ARL Program Provider status were
spearheaded by former Executive Dr. Cyndi Giorgis, Senior
Advisor for ARL Programs Dr. Lindsay Diamond, and Associate Dean for Academic
and Professional Programs Dr. Linda Quinn. The Commission on Professional Standards (COPS) unanimously approved UNLV as an ARL Provider. Dr. Quinn
believes the approval will help the College of Education’s Educational & Clinical Studies and Teaching & Learning departments develop innovative
ways to recruit, educate and support teachers for CCSD schools.
